I’ve never had a massage/wax before; i’m a bit nervous.

There is absolutely nothing to be nervous about. I’m a very easy going, friendly guy and I will put you at ease straight away.  Your session with me will be a relaxing, enjoyable and private experience.  The aim is to make sure you leave feeling great.  There won’t be anyone else in the house during your treatment so privacy and discretion is assured.  All you need to do after a quick chat, is undress to your comfort and lay down on my comfortable and wide massage couch; i’ll do all the hard work!  I’m professionally qualified and insured.

What do I wear when i’m being massaged?

It’s your choice, it’s your massage. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible. You can be draped in towels or you can be uncovered. Obviously when being waxed you’ll need to remove the clothing over the areas being waxed.

Do you only massage and wax males?

Yes.

Does waxing hurt?

I won’t lie, there is obviously an element of discomfort.  I am removing hairs by the root from your body in large quantities.  However, it’s not at all like you see on Youtube!  The wax isn’t just slapped on and ripped off.  I thoroughly prep the skin first with cleansers and an oil barrier and I use other techniques to make the process as comfortable as possible.  If your hair needs trimming first, I will do this as part of the treatment so leave it as it is.  I promise you it’s not as bad as you might think and the number of repeat regulars I have is testament to this.

I don’t want to be waxed but I do prefer to be more ‘tidy’.  Can you help with that?

Yes.  Many clients prefer their intimate areas clippered shorter, or a clippered chest/back, for example.  My professional clippers will make easy work of it and you’ll be sorted in a jiffy.  I also offer an intimate shaving option for those who like the smooth look but don’t want to be waxed.  Ask for more details.

Is your therapy room private?

Yes. I work from home in a dedicated massage room in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire which is clean and welcoming. The only people present will be you and I.

Do you use professional equipment?

I use a professional massage table that is very comfortable and extra wide (30″)  – catering for all shapes and sizes.  Clients often comment how comfortable it is.   All towels and massage table covers are washed after every use; hygiene is everything! I use a variety of massage oils – a cold pressed, massage specific organic sunflower oil which is certified by the soil association, a grape seed oil, and a massage specific sweet almond oil.  All of these oils are great for the skin and extremely nourishing and moisturising. There’s no chip fat used in my massages!

For waxing, I use the outback organics range of waxes and pre and post care products.  These are all vegan friendly and organic. I also sell smaller versions of the products I use for you to take away with you, ensuring your aftercare is the best it can be.  Please see my aftercare section for further details.

Do I need to do anything before I come for my massage/wax?

Hygiene is everything, please shower before your appointment.  Please do not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.  If you suffer with any medical issues or have any injuries please make sure your doctor is happy for you to be massaged and please inform me.  If you are unsure about anything, just ask. If you are unwell, please don’t book, otherwise i’ll get ill as well!  Sending a text/WhatsApp message is the quickest way to get a reply – 07794 204 207.  If you do leave a voice message, please leave your name and a number.  So many people don’t so I can’t return the call!

What happens after the massage?

When your massage is over I will leave you to relax and slowly come back to the real world.  Ice cold, filtered water will be in the room to re-hydrate you and help remove toxins from your body.  Any excess oil will be removed with paper towel or you are welcome to use the wash basin and towels etc.  You can then get dressed in your own time.  I also have a bowl of sweets in the room, they always seem to go down well!

COVID-19

Although the COVID-19 regulations are now over, I still have hand sanitisers and face masks available in the room should you wish to use them.  I clean the room down thoroughly before and after each appointment with antibacterial wipes and sprays.  All couch covers are washed after every appointment, as standard.  Door handles and other surfaces are wiped down with antibacterial wipes between clients.  I would ask any client with COVID-19 related symptoms to refrain from booking please.

Do I have to tip you?

Tips are always appreciated but never expected.

How do I pay?

Cash is preferred to save the ever increasing card fees.  However, I do accept credit and debit cards, including American express!  Many clients like to pay in advance by way of bank transfer or paypal which gives you more options.

Please note: ALL first time clients (without exception) will be asked to pay a non-refundable, upfront payment prior to the appointment with the balance payable AFTER the appointment.  This is due to many previous ‘no shows’, which as a small business I can no longer afford.  If this isn’t something you wish to do, please do not book.  You aren’t paying anything extra as this amount is deducted from your final balance.  I will not deviate from this policy under any circumstances.  Bank transfer or PayPal can be used or I can send you a secure card payment link (I do not see the details at any point).
